The Telford T50 50 Mile Trail Relay Challenge

This is now an annual inter-team challenge that aims to provide an interesting running challenge for regional running clubs, workplace teams, charity supporters and ad hoc groups, whilst promoting the Telford T50 50 Mile Trail
​
There are now 2 perpetual trophies, one for each class. These were presented for 2023 on July 16th. See photo.

The 2024 running of the challenge has now finished, look out for 2025.
​

In Spring 2021 Telford Athletics Club set a new fastest time of 6 hours 10 minutes, they were actually a mixed team.
​

​
In 2024 Shropshire Canicross retained the open trophy and Broseley Joggers retained the trophy they won in 2023.

Classes
Open - minimum 4 runners, maximum 20 runners
Mixed - a minimum of 6 runners of whom 3 must be female and 3 aged 50 years or over, maximum 20 runners.

When you have entered you will have access to a spreadsheet which gives details about each leg and allows you to calculate the expected handover times given the start time and the expected minutes per mile for each leg.

Each leg is available on RunGo as a separate route.
This offers audible navigation. While the gpx files are correct, the audible instructions have been derived automatically and have not been checked. We can edit them, so please let us know if any are very misleading, or if vital turns are missing.

Three teams entered the inaugural challenge. The Mayor of Telford and Wrekin, Raj Mehta presented certificates to the teams on Saturday 3rd November 2018 by our sign in the Town Park. Here are some of the runners . (The dogs ran, the youngster didn't)
